The Feast at the Old Mill
The COCC Foundation and Anthony's HomePort Restaurant presented the first annual The Feast at the Old Mill in September of 2007. This event, sponsored by Anthony's Restaurants, raised a record $24,000 to benefit the Central Oregon Community College Culinary Capital Campaign. The date for this year's Feast at the Old Mill is September 22nd so mark your calendars! Tickets are $100/each which includes a fabulous four course dinner with wine along with an exciting silent auction and raffle. For more information or to purchase tickets call (541)383-7225 or email jpeters@cocc.edu.
COCC Foundation President's Scholarship Lunch
Each year the COCC Foundation sponsors a special luncheon to honor our current scholarship recipients as well as Foundation scholarship donors. The lunch is a great opportunity for students and donors to meet and mingle and to gain an understanding of how a scholarship can change a person's life.
Each year an honoree is chosen for their generosity and support of COCC and its students. This year's honorees were John and Nancy James. John and Nancy have been long term, generous supporters of the Bend community through their involvements in many local non-profit organizations, one of which is the Central Oregon Community College Foundation. Please contact us if you would like information on next year's President Scholarship Luncheon or would like to volunteer.
COCC Foundation Taste of the Town and Meal of the Year
The 2009 Taste of the Town and Meal of the Year was held on March 6th and March 7th. This year's honorees were Irene Bostleman Carlson, Dick and Mary Carlson, and Peter and Patti Carlson. As one of the oldest charity galas in the area, the Meal of the Year and Taste of the Town are annual fundraising events held on the campus of Central Oregon Community College. Both evenings benefit Foundation scholarships and other Foundation programs. Last year over 1,000 people attended both evenings, raising over $200,000. The 2010 Taste of the Town and Meal of the Year will take place on Friday, March 5th and Saturday March 6th. The Nancy R. Chandler Visiting Scholar Speaker Program
The Nancy R. Chandler Visiting Scholar Program was established in 1985 by the late Robert W. Chandler, Sr. and his wife, Nancy R. Chandler. The program brings renowned scholars to the Central Oregon region to present a balanced and broad-based scope of programming in the form of lectures, forums and interactive workshops. In doing so, we hope to encourage stimulating conversations that broaden our community's perspectives on and perceptions of other people and events. More about Nancy R. Chandler Visiting Scholar Speaker Program.
