COCC Foundation President's Scholarship Lunch Each year the COCC Foundation sponsors a special luncheon to honor our current scholarship recipients as well as Foundation scholarship donors. The lunch is a great opportunity for students and donors to meet and mingle and to gain an understanding of how a scholarship can change a person's life. This year's luncheon was held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Riverhouse Convention Center in Bend.
Each year an honoree is chosen for their generosity and support of COCC and its students. This year's honoree was the firm of Karnopp Petersen, LLP. Karnopp Petersen has had a presence in Central Oregon for more than 70 years and its community involvement includes supporting countless students with scholarships through the COCC Foundation since the Foundation's inception in 1955.

COCC Foundation Taste of the Town and Meal of the Year The 2008 Taste of the Town and Meal of the Year was held on March 7th and March 8th and this year's honorees were Ron and Wilda Bryant. One of the oldest charity galas in the area, the Meal of the Year and Taste of the Town are annual fundraising events held each year on the campus of Central Oregon Community College. Both evenings benefit Foundation scholarships and other Foundation programs. This year over 1,000 people attended both evenings, raising over $200,000. Chandler Visiting Scholar Program was established in 1985 by the late Robert W. Chandler, Sr. and his wife, Nancy R. Chandler. The program brings renowned scholars to the Central Oregon region to present a balanced and broad-based scope of programming in the form of lectures, forums and interactive workshops. In doing so, we hope to encourage stimulating conversations that broaden our community's perspectives on and perceptions of other people and events. More about Nancy R.
